Day 347: Prepare yourself for an emergency. Waterproof your matches.
1. Find a candle in your house and burn the wax to make a small pool around the flame.
2. One at a time dip your the red end of your ordinary matches into the melted wax.
3. Set each wax-dipped match on a plate or parchment paper to set hard.
4. When the wax has set hard, store your waterproof matches in a plastic zipper bag in a cool, dry place ready for use in any emergency. Use as normal.

I like waterproof matches because they light even after being used in the rain, and they are ideal for boating, hiking, and camping. A friend suggested that we should make our own waterproof matches, and the guidelines in your article will unquestionably come in handy. If you are not interested in making your own waterproof matches, you can check out a number of products here: http://wildernessmastery.com/survival/best-waterproof-matches.html

It is ideal for my camping trip! adventurefootstep.com
